Acupuncture is an ancient system of complementary medicine that has been keeping people healthy for over 2,500 years. It involves gentle insertion of very thin filiform needles at key points in the body. These points are part of the body's fascial 'map' that connects our organs and acts like a messenger system. It can alter brain chemistry and stimulate internal responses and hormone regulations. Facial acupuncture can also function as a beauty treatment to relax facial muscles, reduce fine lines, calm inflammation and boost collagen.

Cupping & Tui Na Massage

with Yat-Sen Nepomuceno

Acupuncture may be combined with cupping or a tui na massage. Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction facilitates healing through increasing blood flow. The suction may also help facilitate the flow of 'qi', or life force, in the body. tui na (pronounced "tway-nah" is a therapeutic massage technique that has been used in China for over 5,000 years. It is a safe and effective treatment for a wide variety of conditions.

If deemed beneficial to your treatment, cupping and/or TuiNa is done in combination with or instead of acupuncture. No extra costs are involved.

Pressure Point Massage

with Josef Rebbe or Bas Ackermann

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of manual therapy based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Within this system, physical and emotional disturbances are the result of an imbalance in the natural flow of vital energy. Shiatsu aims to restore this balance and allow your energy to flow freely. Techniques include massage with fingers, thumbs, feet and palms, assisted stretching and holding, and applying pressure into specific points and key channels of the body. Shiatsu allows your muscles to relax, helps detoxification, improves circulation and reduces stress.
