About the event
Qigong [tʃiːˈɡɒŋ]: Life-energy cultivation
This workshop will take you on a journey into the world of Qigong, a Chinese art of health exercises, to cultivate and balance your Qi. Qi is translated as 'life energy' and flows through everything - including you.
Qigong has its roots in ancient Chinese culture, involving medicine, philosophy, and martial arts. The purpose of Qigong is to cultivate and balance your Qi to support health, and spirituality.
The Qigong practice in this workshop involves slow standing movements coordinated with the breath which creates space for meditation in the practice. The movements are targeted to stimulate the meridians and acupuncture points. Different Qigong sets have different aims.
Majken Nørskov Petersen will take you through some of her favorite Qigong movements to open and relax both your body and mind for you to move and feel your own Qi: 'Qigong practice always calms my mind and lifts my spirit, and my goal is to pass that on to you.'
In the break, a special Chinese tea is served, specially chosen for this occasion.
